Our Level System for Stylist Growth and Expertise
The primary goal of our Mathis Salon & Spa Level System is to provide a career path of growth and achievement for all team members.
Our Level System gives our team members a chance to master their skills at each level. As they master skills, techniques, timing and their demand level goes up, they are able to advance to the next level.
In return, we’re able to offer several service options to our guests to better meet their needs. Guests may choose the stylist/level that compliments their requests from skill set to expertise, and budget.
Cultivating an environment of learning and sharing
At Mathis Salon & Spa, we have a level system in place that reflects the demand of each artist and the adjusted service prices. All of our artists undergo extensive training and receive their master’s degree in hair before becoming a level one stylist. Along with our shared growth journey, we take pride in truly working together as a team, treating each guest as a person, not a possession. If your usual stylist is unavailable when you need an appointment or you’re simply interested in connecting with another artist, there’s no need to feel as though you have to sneak off to another salon — we encourage stylist swapping!
It's All In The Details
All stylists, regardless of prior experience, attend the Mathis Salon & Spa Apprenticeship Program prior to working hands-on with our guest. Mathis Salon & Spa Mentor's and Educator's certify the stylists in our Principle-Based Design (hair cutting techniques, hair coloring, and styling) and product knowledge to ensure they can offer the highest level of service and experience.
The cost of our Salon Services will vary per stylist level. Based on availability, education, and demand we offer 9 different levels for you to choose from. We encourage guests to schedule a complimentary consultation to get an exact cost for their service prior to scheduling their salon and spa service with us.
Cuties
Our Cuties are team members in cosmetology or esthetician school learning the ways of the salon, in the salon while continuing to earn their state license.
During this period, they are assisting Certified Mathis Salon & Spa Educator with shampooing, scalp treatments, blowdrying and retail in order to advance their skills, improve efficiency and learn our specific Mathis Salon & Spa procedures, while learning valuable skills before they receive their state licenses. They are concentrating on verbiage, grace, education and timing.
Apprentice
Apprentice team members are recent graduates currently undergoing our 3-6 month Apprenticeship Program.
During this period, they are assisting Certified Mathis Salon & Spa Educators in order to advance their skills, improve efficiency and learn our specific Mathis Salon & Spa procedures, while servicing their own guests (models) a few hours a week and guests 2 days per week. They are concentrating on hair services as well as, becoming “Keratin” and “The Best” Treatment certified.
They must undergo the same training process.
New Talent Stylist
A New Talent Stylist is a recent cosmetology graduated who has completed our Mathis Salon & Spa Cutie Program and Associate Program.
New Talent Stylists are new to the service floor but have mastered their basic skills. These stylists have the ability to offer beautiful and budget-friendly services for their guests.

A consultation at Mathis Salon & Spa is more than just a conversation. Our stylists take the time to get to know you and analyze key factors, like skin tone, hair texture and face shape, to help determine the right approach for your hair. For guests requiring color correction, we will also determine which kind of hair treatment will need to be prescribed to help restore your hair’s natural beauty and strength.
